About the Role
We are looking for a talented Remote Character Artist to join our NBA 2K team at Visual Concepts. This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of the most beloved franchises in video game history. What You'll Do
- Create photorealistic real-time game models, UVs, and textures.
- Perform texture editing and work with scan data to extract information into game models.
- Receive and incorporate feedback from art directors to improve character assets.
- Integrate character assets into the game engine, ensuring high quality and performance.
- Troubleshoot and QC character assets for the game engine.
- Collaborate with other departments to complete character assets efficiently.
- Learn and utilize the Shotgrid project management tool.
- Attend team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a character artist in the gaming industry.
- Strong portfolio showcasing character modeling and texturing skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
- Experience with game engines, particularly Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Shotgrid or similar project management tools.
- Familiarity with the NBA 2K franchise or sports games.
- Knowledge of rigging and animation principles.
