Field Service Technician - Remote Opportunities Available
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team at Andritz. This position offers remote opportunities, allowing you to work from various locations while providing essential mechanical repair and customer training for Andritz supplied equipment. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our clients in key industries that are shaping the future.
What You'll Do
- Perform mechanical repairs and process startups of Andritz equipment at customer facilities.
- Provide technical assistance and training to customers and new company service technicians.
- Conduct in-house assembly and repair of equipment when not performing field service activities.
- Prepare detailed field service reports, including supporting documentation for billing purposes.
- Assist customers with spare parts recommendations and promote spare parts and repair business.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and utilize appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Travel full-time as scheduled to various job sites.
Requirements
- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of Andritz manufactured equipment.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and using hand tools.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and corrective action plans in maintenance environments.
- Experience with PLC programming (e.g., AB, Siemens S7) is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds and perform visual inspections.
Nice to Have
- Electromechanical Technology degree or equivalent trade school experience.
- Welding experience (Mig, Tig, Fluxcore) is a plus.
- Experience with handheld vibration analysis.
