Machine Learning Engineer - LiveOps Automation

About the Role

Scopely is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our LiveOps Automation team on a remote basis. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing player experiences across Scopely’s Live Games Portfolio. This opportunity allows you to work with a global team of game lovers who are dedicated to innovating the mobile games industry and connecting millions of players worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Gain an understanding of game operations, design, and audience engagement.
• Support ML projects end-to-end: from business requirements to deployment and monitoring.
• Transform and analyze player data to validate assumptions and develop ML solutions.
• Collaborate with MLEs, Engineering Managers, and Product Managers to implement improvements.
• Build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure for model training and serving.
• Implement tools that empower LiveOps and Game Design teams.
• Support and troubleshoot the LiveOps Automation tool suite.

Requirements

• Proactive, creative problem-solver with a strong team player mentality.
• Hands-on experience with algorithms, heuristics, machine learning, and analytical approaches.
• Strong technical background in engineering, computer science, machine learning, or related fields.
• Proficient coding skills in at least one mainstream language (Python, Java, C++).
• Experience in the gaming industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with tools like Airflow and dbt.
• Experience in A/B testing and Bayesian statistics.
• Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Nice to Have

• Experience delivering ML products with monitoring and alerting.
• Knowledge of causal inference and statistical significance testing.
