Buyer/​Planner - Remote Position at AMETEK

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Buyer/Planner to join our team at AMETEK. This remote Buyer/Planner position will be responsible for all purchasing activities related to production, after-sales service, and parts requirements for an assigned product line. As a Buyer/Planner, you will take ownership of fulfilling all Purchase Orders based on AMETEK’s master production schedule, while also managing independent customer demands.

What You'll Do

• Oversee all purchasing activities to ensure timely fulfillment of Purchase Orders.
• Utilize practical knowledge of leading-edge purchasing strategies and the material planning process.
• Source PCBA, electro-mechanical, fabricated, machined, and electrical components.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships globally.
• Manage supplier relationships within an ISO9001 certified environment.
• Drive continuous process and productivity improvements.
• Negotiate effectively to develop successful relationships with internal and external customers.
• Utilize MS Office applications and ERP systems proficiently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or operations management or equivalent.
• Three or more years of related experience and/or training.
• Certification in sourcing/purchasing/quality (CPM, CPIM, CIRM, CQE, CSCP) is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to foster successful relationships.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, with advanced MS Excel proficiency preferred.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and their operation.

Nice to Have

• Experience in an ISO9001 certified company.
• Supply Chain / Purchasing / Planning certification or working toward certification.
