Emergency Response Officer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

Are you passionate about protecting people and responding to challenges? Join our dynamic team as an Emergency Response Officer remote at Nyrstar Port Pirie and play a vital role in keeping our major industrial site safe, secure, and resilient.

What You'll Do

  • Provide emergency response, injury management, and security services across the Nyrstar Smelter on a 4 on 4 off day and night roster.
  • Maintain appropriate site emergency response in compliance with Major Hazard Facility requirements.
  • Undertake first response medical care for injured employees.
  • Conduct fire response training and routine maintenance of fire protection systems.
  • Provide technical advice for site fire, rescue, injury management, health, and security operations.
  • Support site security operations, including bag and equipment searches and drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role or with external emergency services.
  • HLT41115 Certificate IV Health Care and Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations).
  • Current unrestricted Class C South Australian Driver’s License.
  • Current Security Agent license (South Australia) or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office; experience in SAP is highly regarded.
  • A high level of fitness to undertake the physical requirements of the role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in emergency management in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications.
