Internal Audit Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an Internal Audit Manager to join Acorn Insurance, offering a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to our governance and risk management efforts. As an Internal Audit Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing independent assurance to our Board regarding the health of our business.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Head of Internal Audit in delivering the Internal Audit plan.
• Lead audits of key business activities across the Acorn Group, including our UK-based entities and Haven Insurance in Gibraltar.
• Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and monitor adherence.
• Prepare clear, actionable audit reports for senior management and the Audit Committee.
• Collaborate with various business units to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor audit staff to ensure quality and consistency in audit work.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ethical conduct within the team.

Requirements

• A 2:1 degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of post-qualification experience preferred.
• Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services sector is advantageous.
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Curiosity, resilience, and a proactive approach to learning.
• Excellent attention to detail and high ethical standards.

Nice to Have

• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Experience with audit software and data analytics tools.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in the insurance industry.
