About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Tenant Support Worker to join our team remotely. As a Tenant Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance and support to adults with low or no income, helping them achieve greater independence and stability. This is a part-time, temporary position, with a focus on empowering individuals facing various challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in tenant intakes and provide ongoing support services and assessments.
  • Identify challenges for tenants and develop personalized service plans.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and assist with finances and medication management.
  • Ensure that basic needs are met by working closely with individuals on a long-term basis.
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain statistical and evaluative data.
  • Assist with volunteers and practicum students on site.
  • Remain alert and attentive during working hours; sleeping during shifts is not permitted.
  • Comply with and contribute to all aspects of the health and safety program.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience or a combination of education and training.
  • Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of resources related to Mental Health, Income Assistance, and Trauma Informed Practice.

Nice to Have

  • OFA 1 First Aid Certificate.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged and challenging adults.
