Tenant Support Worker - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Tenant Support Worker to join our team remotely. As a Tenant Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance and support to adults with low or no income, helping them achieve greater independence and stability. This is a part-time, temporary position, with a focus on empowering individuals facing various challenges.
What You'll Do
- Participate in tenant intakes and provide ongoing support services and assessments.
- Identify challenges for tenants and develop personalized service plans.
- Conduct crisis intervention and assist with finances and medication management.
- Ensure that basic needs are met by working closely with individuals on a long-term basis.
- Complete required paperwork and maintain statistical and evaluative data.
- Assist with volunteers and practicum students on site.
- Remain alert and attentive during working hours; sleeping during shifts is not permitted.
- Comply with and contribute to all aspects of the health and safety program.
Requirements
- Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of related experience or a combination of education and training.
- Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of resources related to Mental Health, Income Assistance, and Trauma Informed Practice.
Nice to Have
- OFA 1 First Aid Certificate.
- Food Safe Certificate.
- Experience working with disadvantaged and challenging adults.
