About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an Early Careers Recruitment Specialist to join our London team on a 9-month contract. This role will have overall responsibility for the delivery of our inclusion strategy, including specific program management aligned with our inclusion initiatives as well as managing our LawTech and US recruitment activities. As an Early Careers Recruitment Specialist, you will support the UK Early Careers Recruitment team with events, programs, interviewing, broadening access activity, and university relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the delivery of our early careers recruitment inclusion strategy.
  • Partner with internal networks to ensure alignment with the firm’s inclusion strategy.
  • Organize and deliver inclusion programs and represent A&O Shearman at inclusion events.
  • Oversee campus activities, including managing university relationships and organizing events.
  • Conduct interviews for early careers programs and provide feedback to candidates.
  • Manage the annual summer associate program and LLM recruitment for the US Corporate Finance Group.
  • Own the recruitment process for the LawTech Graduate Programme.
  • Support ad hoc early careers projects and manage the workload of junior administrative support.

Requirements

  • Experience in successful volume entry-level recruitment, ideally within the legal sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK Graduate and Early Careers Recruitment market.
  • Passion for inclusion programs and evidence of strong university relationships.
  • Understanding of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Flexibility regarding working hours, including evening work and overnight stays.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the US junior recruitment market.
  • Interest in technology and utilizing new systems.
  • Experience managing university budgets.
