Staff Accountant - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team remotely. In this Staff Accountant remote position, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the month-end closing process and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will work closely with the finance team and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the monthly close process and prepare financial information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals, both recurring and non-recurring.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and prepare supporting documentation for financial statements.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports for management review.
  • Research and provide conclusions on technical accounting issues as they arise.
  • Prepare additional ad hoc reports as required to support decision-making.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned to support the finance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification.
  • Familiarity with retail accounting practices.
