About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to join our Lifecycle & Growth team at Instacart. As a Senior Product Designer, you will focus on Instacart+, our subscription service, and Incentives, shaping how customers discover and engage with these offerings. This is a remote role where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create impactful product experiences that drive user engagement and retention. What You'll Do

  • Drive end-to-end design initiatives across Instacart+ and Incentives, from problem framing to delivery.
  • Design subscription and promotional experiences across key surfaces including home, browse, cart, checkout, and lifecycle touchpoints.
  • Frame problems clearly and explore multiple solution paths based on customer insights and business impact.
  • Translate experience principles into thoughtful flows and interaction patterns that align with Instacart’s design system.
  • Leverage AI-assisted prototyping and concept development to enhance design clarity and rigor.
  • Collaborate with Research and Data Science to uncover insights related to subscription behavior and translate findings into journey refinements.
  • Help shape value propositions and messaging within Instacart+ and Incentives, creating clear artifacts that align with cross-functional partners.
  • Elevate quality by advocating for user-centered solutions and providing mentorship within the team.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products across web and mobile.
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end feature or journey design, including multi-step flows and lifecycle touchpoints.
  • Experience in digital commerce, audience growth, subscription, or monetization-focused initiatives.
  • Fluency in Figma and Google Slides, with the ability to produce high-fidelity UI and interaction design.
  • Proven track record connecting design decisions to measurable outcomes such as activation and retention.
  • Strong communication skills for framing problems and presenting design rationale to partners.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for marketplaces, e-commerce, grocery, or membership/subscription products.
  • Experience shaping onboarding, activation, and retention journeys.
  • Experience designing high-visibility surfaces such as home and personalized feeds.
  • Familiarity with generative and AI-assisted design tools.
  • Comfort collaborating across teams and time zones.
