Senior Planning Engineer - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will oversee and manage the planning and scheduling activities for engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing detailed project schedules and coordinating with various departments.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, incorporating all tasks, milestones, and deliverables to ensure project timelines are accurately represented.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements, establish priorities, and define project scope.
- Monitor project progress against established schedules, identifying deviations, delays, and potential risks, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates on schedule performance, resource utilization, and potential impacts on project outcomes.
- Analyze project data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern, and recommend appropriate adjustments to schedules and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources needed for project execution.
- Prepare and distribute reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing project schedules, progress, and performance indicators for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior planning engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in project scheduling and management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years relevant to planning engineering.
- Experience in the GCC region is a plus.
- Professional degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and principles of planning.
- Familiarity with planning software such as Primavera P6.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze cash flow and project resource management.
