General Foreman - Highways Project

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled General Foreman for a highways project in Beverley, England. As a General Foreman, you will manage daily construction activities, ensuring a safe working environment and effective resource coordination. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while being part of a dynamic team that values safety, quality, and communication.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily construction activities and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the Site Agent and Project Manager to maintain clear communication with all teams.
• Work with the Senior Engineer to deliver setting out and engineering control for the highways project.
• Maintain accurate daily site records, including diary entries and photographic evidence.
• Calibrate surveying equipment and complete as-built surveys to support quality assurance.
• Produce 2D and 3D site sketches and assist with planning and continuous improvement activities.
• Support the development of junior engineers and contribute to effective waste and resource management.

Requirements

• HND or equivalent in a relevant subject and a valid CSCS card.
• Experience with setting out techniques such as Level, EDM, and GPS.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working with others.
• Able to interpret drawings and technical data accurately while working safely on site.
• Experience in managing construction activities and teams effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience in highways or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction.
