We're hiring a Senior Mechanical Designer for Data Centers remote position at AECOM. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing HVAC systems tailored for data centers, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop HVAC systems specifically for data centers.
• Select appropriate cooling systems based on specific requirements.
• Conduct internal and external CFD simulations for optimization.
• Ensure redundancy and fault tolerance in HVAC designs.
• Perform heat load calculations for capacity planning.
• Implement energy-efficient design strategies.
• Maintain air quality through appropriate filtration systems.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure integrated designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design.
• Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Direct experience supporting data center projects preferred.
• Experience with hyperscale or colocation clients is a plus.
• Professional licensure preferred but not required.

• Familiarity with energy modeling software.
• Knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Experience with project management tools.
