Principal AI Ops Architect - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal AI Ops Architect to join our rapidly growing International Public Sector team at Scale AI. This role is focused on leveraging AI to address critical challenges in the public sector globally. As a Principal AI Ops Architect - Remote, you will design and develop the production lifecycle of full-stack AI applications, ensuring system reliability and real-time inference observability.

What You'll Do

• Take full accountability for the long-term performance and reliability of AI use cases deployed across international government agencies.
• Oversee the end-to-end health of the platform, ensuring seamless integration between the AI core and all full-stack components, from APIs to UI.
• Build automated systems to monitor model performance and data drift across geographically dispersed environments.
• Manage the technical lifecycle within diverse regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance with global standards.
• Lead the response for production issues in mission-critical environments, ensuring rapid resolution.
• Translate deep technical performance metrics into clear insights for senior international government officials.
• Partner with Engineering and ML teams to ensure lessons learned in the field influence future technical architecture.

Requirements

• 6+ years in a high-impact technical role (SRE, FDE, or MLOps) with experience in the public sector.
• Familiarity with international government security standards and complexities of deploying sovereign AI.
• Proven experience maintaining production-grade applications with a deep understanding of the full request lifecycle.
• Proficiency in modern AI infrastructure, including Kubernetes, vector databases, and LLM observability tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing production deployment challenges.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues to high-ranking officials.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and security best practices.
• Knowledge of AI ethics and governance frameworks.
• Experience working with government agencies or in a regulated environment.
