About the Role
We are hiring a Principal AI Data Scientist to join our innovative team at Haystack. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the integration of advanced AI and machine learning technologies into the healthcare sector, specifically focusing on clinical trials and patient care.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and implementation of AI/ML and GenAI solutions to revolutionize clinical trial operations, focusing on patient recruitment, retention, and real-time monitoring.
- Architect LLM-driven applications to automate the generation of critical clinical documentation, including medical reports, protocols, and patient narratives.
- Develop innovative Digital Healthcare applications using Real World Evidence (RWE) and data from wearable devices and electronic health records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional R&D and Clinical Ops teams to translate complex healthcare challenges into scalable, predictive AI models.
- Deploy and manage models using MLOps best practices on high-compute AWS cloud platforms while ensuring strict data privacy and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field with 3-5 years of professional experience.
- At least 1+ year of hands-on experience applying AI/ML specifically to healthcare, clinical research, or life sciences data.
- Expert-level programming in Python or R, with deep proficiency in modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Proven experience with Generative AI architectures, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) for medical text analysis.
- Strong familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, code version control, and deploying models through standardized MLOps pipelines.

- Experience with data privacy regulations in healthcare.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
