Software Development Engineer - Payment Intelligence Team

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our Payment Intelligence team at GoCardless. This role is a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to our mission of enhancing bank payments through intelligent data products. As a Software Development Engineer remote, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions that improve payment recovery rates and fraud detection.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with a team of engineers to enhance our existing products, Success+ and Protect+.
• Develop and implement features that improve consumer authentication flow experiences for high-risk payments.
• Utilize your programming skills in Ruby and/or Python to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Drive revenue growth by creating market-leading payment recovery and fraud prevention products.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for new product features.

Requirements

• Strong programming experience with Ruby and/or Python.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
• Experience in collaborating with engineering teams and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive concrete business outcomes.
• Growth mindset with a passion for building and improving products.

Nice to Have

• Experience with machine learning models and fraud detection systems.
• Familiarity with payment processing and banking systems.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and product ownership.
