About the Role

We are seeking an AI Engineer - Platform to join our innovative team at Hyperexponential. This AI Engineer remote position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our AI-powered platform, which is transforming the insurance industry. You will play a crucial role in designing and operating scalable AI infrastructure that supports billions in premium flow.

What You'll Do

• Design and operate scalable AI infrastructure for LLM inference, prompt management, and evaluation pipelines.
• Build self-service tools, SDKs, and APIs that empower product teams to move from prototype to production 30% faster.
• Instrument production AI/ML workloads with standardized logging, tracing, and evaluation metrics, increasing observability coverage to 100% of deployed models.
• Implement intelligent routing, caching, and provider optimization via the LLM gateway, reducing AI compute costs by up to 25%.
• Drive adoption of shared platform services to replace bespoke solutions, increasing platform adoption across new AI features.
• Champion developer experience by delivering comprehensive documentation and responsive support, resulting in higher internal customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Experience in building and deploying production AI infrastructure that supports enterprise-grade reliability and observability.
• Proven track record of delivering self-service tools or APIs that enabled multiple product teams to accelerate their AI/ML development cycles.
• Experience implementing evaluation frameworks, A/B testing infrastructure, or monitoring solutions that measure and improve model performance.
• Strong background in optimizing AI compute costs through strategies such as intelligent routing or caching.
• Ability to migrate teams from bespoke AI solutions to shared platform services, driving measurable adoption.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
