Mid-Senior IT Systems Manager - Relocate to the Cayman Islands

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced IT Systems Manager to join our team and relocate to the beautiful Cayman Islands. This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished IT professional to work in a tropical environment while managing the IT infrastructure for a large retail client. As an IT Systems Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, security, and resiliency of all hardware, software, and networking technologies.

What You'll Do

• Act as the primary internal IT resource, reporting directly to the CFO.
• Oversee the overall performance and security of IT systems at the retail location.
• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including 2016/2022 versions.
• Implement and manage VMware ESXi 8 and vSphere clusters.
• Coordinate with third-party IT service providers to ensure seamless operations.
• Develop and execute Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Supervise the deployment and management of retail POS systems and workstations.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for IT security.

Requirements

• Current VMware and Microsoft certifications are required.
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in systems administration and management.
• Experience with Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or MCSE Core Server 2016 certification.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Endpoint management.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and retail management applications.
• Experience with Veeam Backup and VMware Site Recovery Manager.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise IT service providers effectively.

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Exchange certification or willingness to obtain quickly.
• Experience with building security systems and IP CCTV.
• Knowledge of retail timekeeping and accounting applications.
