About the Role
We are looking for an Intermediate Backend PHP Developer (Symfony) - Remote to join our team at Solarys Software GmbH. In this role, you will work on applications that truly matter, enhancing existing systems without having to reinvent the wheel. You will collaborate closely with other developers, Product Owners, and the CTO to create solutions that can be deployed quickly. This position offers you the opportunity to think critically, ask questions, take responsibility, and grow your skills.
What You'll Do
- Enhance and modernize our PHP/Symfony-based platform syBOS.
- Implement new modules such as material management and task management.
- Integrate third-party systems via REST or SOAP APIs.
- Maintain and improve existing components focusing on stability, performance, and security.
- Write and maintain automated tests using PHPUnit and PEST.
- Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and app teams.
Requirements
- Solid experience in backend development with PHP 8.
- Practical experience with Symfony (or Laravel with a willingness to dive deeper into Symfony).
- Good knowledge of databases (MySQL/MariaDB, preferably also NoSQL).
- Experience with API integrations and automated testing.
- Interest in software architecture with a focus on practical, actionable solutions.
- Structured, independent working style and team spirit.
- German language skills: at least B2 level.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
- Initial experience with Docker or message queues.

Who Will Succeed Here
