HSE Advisor - Transmission (Remote Opportunity)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated HSE Advisor - Transmission to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will be a trusted partner across contractors, identifying risks and ensuring compliance with AusNet’s HSE frameworks. As an HSE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of health, safety, and environment in the energy sector.
What You'll Do
- Provide practical HSE coaching, advice, and guidance to field teams and contractors.
- Support the implementation of critical risk programs, including controls and monitoring effectiveness.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and assurance activities to verify compliance.
- Lead incident investigations and facilitate learning teams to enhance safety practices.
- Participate in risk assessments and job safety analysis to identify potential hazards.
- Monitor and report on high-risk activities, creating gap closure plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with contractors to align safety procedures and standards effectively.
- Review HSE data for dashboards and leadership forums for governance and reporting needs.
Requirements
- Cert IV in WHS and ideally a Construction white card.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in HSE for high hazard industries.
- Experience in energy, construction, rail, or major projects is beneficial.
- Proficient in conducting risk assessments, inspections, and assurance with documented outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Able to travel across the state as needed.
Nice to Have
- Experience in facilitating safety conversations and measurable uplift in reporting closure rates.
- End-to-end involvement in investigations, including root cause analysis.
- Collaborative experience working with delivery partners and contracted teams.

Who Will Succeed Here
