Head of Quality Assurance - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Quality Assurance to join our dynamic team at Birkenstock. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the quality assurance department, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation as a leading global brand.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop the quality assurance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with defined quality standards through regular quality checks and audits.
• Train employees on quality-related topics to enhance overall quality awareness.
• Organize and conduct incoming goods inspections, documenting and communicating results effectively.
• Manage and coordinate the handling of complaints regarding defective materials.
• Collaborate with suppliers on quality-related issues to ensure product integrity.
• Collect, analyze, and develop relevant quality metrics for continuous process improvement.
• Support the creation and maintenance of management documents, including procedures and work instructions.

Requirements

• Completed technical or commercial training with further education in quality management (e.g., Quality Management Representative) or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in quality management or quality assurance within a manufacturing company.
• Knowledge of common quality management methods and tools (e.g., Ishikawa, FMEA, 8D).
• Experience in leading teams is advantageous.
• Fluency in German and good command of English.
• Proficient in MS Office, ideally with experience in SAP.
• Structured, independent, and results-oriented working style with strong analytical skills.
• High sense of responsibility, assertiveness, and strong communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the footwear or consumer goods industry.
• Knowledge of international quality standards.
• Familiarity with digital quality management systems.
