Research Fellow - Sustainable Development Goals (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Research Fellow to join our team remotely. As a Research Fellow, you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by conducting research on political, social, and economic trends in SDG financing and private sector development. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and make a significant impact on global development initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Provide research and knowledge generation support, focusing on qualitative and quantitative background analysis related to SDG financing.
• Assist in the implementation of knowledge management activities within the Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD).
• Support the organization of events, including securing venues, managing registrations, and preparing necessary documentation.
• Conduct research to inform the development of methodologies, reports, and briefs related to private sector involvement in development.
• Participate in project meetings and represent the portfolio at various events.
• Support senior management with information collection and compilation for advisory activities.
• Contribute to the development of knowledge management products that enhance the role of the private sector in development.
• Engage in ad hoc activities as needed to support the mission of ICPSD.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, international development, international relations, political science, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with web-based management systems.
• Fluency in English and French is required.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to consolidate data for practical implementation.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Outgoing personality with a goal-oriented mindset.
• Ability to communicate effectively in teams and independently.

Nice to Have

• Experience in research related to sustainable development or private sector engagement.
• Knowledge of SDG financing mechanisms.
• Familiarity with impact investing and private sector development.
