Engineering Director - Quantum Computing & Machine Learning

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our Product Team in the exciting field of Quantum Computing. This Engineering Director (Product) role offers a unique opportunity to work with an International Quantum Computing Leader based in San Sebastian, Spain. As an Engineering Director, you will oversee multiple engineering teams focused on model development and machine learning initiatives, ensuring high performance and delivery excellence.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage engineering teams dedicated to model development and evaluation, driving strategic planning and execution of machine learning initiatives.
• Influence decision-makers with insights on modeling trends and data-driven strategies to define product priorities.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Research, Marketing, and Leadership to ensure integrated execution across model lifecycles.
• Define best practices in model experimentation and evaluation methodologies for scalable results.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including milestones for model releases and risk assessments.
• Monitor project timelines and resource allocation to maintain delivery excellence.
• Establish analytics systems to measure and improve model accuracy and reliability.
• Mentor engineering managers and technical leads, fostering professional growth and collaboration.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering or data science, including model development.
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams in a technology-driven environment.
• Experience with Large Language Models and advanced ML architectures.
• Strong understanding of modern ML development pipelines and model evaluation frameworks.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate diverse technical teams.
• Exceptional communication skills and fluency in English.

• Experience delivering analytical or model-based products on time and within scope.
