Veterinary Receptionist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Receptionist remote position at Pets at Home. If you enjoy delivering excellent service and working as part of a team, this role is perfect for you! The successful applicant will work across multiple locations, including Abingdon, Oxford, and Didcot. Flexibility to work across all sites is essential, and a valid driving license with access to your own transport would be advantageous.

What You'll Do

  • Provide exceptional service to clients and ensure the best care for their pets, acting as a vital link between clients and the clinical team.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, their pets, and the practice team to ensure ongoing trust and satisfaction.
  • Deliver excellent client service during visits, ensuring clients leave feeling valued and confident in the care received.
  • Greet clients and provide support, guidance, and expertise while confidently managing payments and future bookings.
  • Coordinate the smooth day-to-day running of the practice using our online booking system, so strong computer literacy is essential.
  • Manage a range of administrative duties including booking appointments, handling payments, recalls, care plans, insurance, registering ID chips, cashing up, completing end-of-day checks, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of the practice.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and the highest standard of patient care.
  • Friendly, approachable, kind, caring, and professional.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills (training will be provided).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, their pets, and colleagues.
  • Calm and composed under pressure.
  • Reliable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous veterinary reception experience is desirable but not essential.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology.
  • Familiarity with booking systems.
