About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Product Design to lead our design team and enhance the user experience at Hiive, a rapidly growing fintech startup. This Director of Product Design remote position will allow you to shape the future of our platform and deliver impactful design solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Define and champion the product design vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Manage and enhance a cohesive, scalable design system process, ensuring consistency across products and platforms.
  • Mentor and inspire a team of product designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with product leadership to integrate product management, design, and engineering processes.
  • Facilitate workshops and design reviews with stakeholders to drive alignment across teams.
  • Lead the creation of intuitive and visually compelling designs for web and mobile platforms.
  • Ensure all designs meet accessibility, responsiveness, and scalability standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new insights into the design process.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating innovative design solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring design teams.
  • Expert level in working with an in-house created design system.
  • Experience with Figma and designing scalable user research processes.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in SaaS, B2B, or marketplace product environments.
  • Proficiency in data and product analytics tools.
  • Experience in UX writing and content strategy.
