Design and Certification Specialist - Software (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Design and Certification Specialist - Software (Remote) to join our team at the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). In this role, you will be responsible for delivering certification and validation projects for the CAA, ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards in the aviation industry. This position allows for a hybrid work environment, providing flexibility while contributing to critical projects in the aerospace sector.

What You'll Do

• Lead certification and validation projects for software systems in aviation.
• Collaborate with UK industry and other aviation authorities to ensure compliance and safety.
• Utilize knowledge of IMA design and architecture, avionics communications protocols, and certification requirements.
• Conduct SOI audits and manage hardware-software integration processes.
• Oversee the development assurance processes for airborne electronic hardware.

Requirements

• Proven aerospace experience, preferably in an approved aerospace organization.
• Strong understanding of the certification process and experience in managing civil certification programs.
• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification with a solid aerospace background.
• Experience in leading technical decisions and guiding teams on multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
