About the Role
Infopro Digital is seeking a Data Journalist to join its Risk.net brand, a leading source of in-depth news and analysis on risk management, financial markets, and regulation. As a Data Journalist remote, you will uncover newsworthy stories hidden in financial data and transform them into clear, authoritative articles that help readers understand market trends and performance.
What You'll Do
- Write insightful articles based on publicly available financial and regulatory data.
- Analyze datasets from banks, funds, and other financial institutions to identify newsworthy developments.
- Create charts and visualizations that help readers quickly grasp key findings.
- Identify emerging trends in financial risk, markets, and regulation.
- Collaborate with other journalists on stories and investigations.
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to house style in all published content.
- Develop new areas of coverage and identify new datasets.
- Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
Requirements
- At least two years of journalism experience, ideally in finance or markets.
- Familiarity with banking, financial markets, or financial regulation.
- Strong news judgment and ability to identify compelling stories.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce engaging journalism under deadlines.
- Confidence working with spreadsheets and analyzing numerical data.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Infogram) is a plus.
- Attention to detail and strong fact-checking skills.
- A self-starter mentality with a collaborative approach.
Nice to Have
- Experience with programming languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
- Previous experience in investigative journalism.
