Learning Support Assistant - Remote Opportunities
About the Role

We are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant remote to join Sandwell College, a leading Further Education institution in the West Midlands. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities on fixed-term contracts until June 2027. The salary for this Learning Support Assistant remote position is competitive, reflecting your commitment and the number of term-time weeks worked.
What You'll Do
- Support learners in the classroom, focusing on developing their literacy, language, and numeracy skills.
- Work closely with students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring they access personalized learning opportunities.
- Deliver tailored one-to-one support and lead small group sessions to reinforce understanding and build confidence.
- Provide note-taking assistance to help learners stay engaged with their studies.
- Act as a central point of contact for students, offering consistent guidance throughout their educational journey.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the diverse needs of students in a Further Education setting.
- Adaptability, resilience, and a desire to make a lasting difference in students' lives.
- Excellent classroom and behavioral management skills.
- Minimum of GCSE in English and Maths at grade C or above, or a recognized equivalent qualification.
- Current skill levels at Level 2 in Literacy, Language, and Numeracy.
- Minimum of a Level 3 subject qualification; a teaching qualification (PTLLS or equivalent) is preferable.

- Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
