About the Role

Zurich is currently seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist - Complex Casualty to join our team in a remote capacity. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will engage with brokers and agents, ensuring the delivery of high-quality underwriting services. As an Underwriting Specialist, you will be pivotal in driving profitable growth while maintaining superior service standards.

What You'll Do

  • Generate, underwrite, and analyze domestic Complex and Loss Sensitive Casualty business.
  • Engage in market-facing and production activities to build strong broker relationships.
  • Comply with underwriting rules, insurance laws, and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships to enhance business opportunities.
  • Work within broad limits and authorities on complex assignments to ensure effective risk assessment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles.
  • Alternatively, 6+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
  • Knowledge of domestic complex casualty products and legal/regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to assess risk effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
