Test Automation Engineer - Financial Services
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our team at FDM Group. This remote position will require you to work closely with our clients in the financial services sector, specifically in Securities Finance and Collateral Management technology. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions to ensure the quality and performance of critical platforms.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Build and execute automated test scripts for complex, data-driven applications.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
- Collaborate with QA analysts, developers, product managers, and business analysts to define automation strategy and coverage.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual test cases and improve test efficiency.
- Validate end-to-end workflows including trade lifecycle, collateral allocation, margin calculations, and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve test failures, flaky tests, and environment issues.
- Ensure test automation aligns with SDLC best practices and enterprise standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer, SDET, or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and test automation best practices.
- Experience testing enterprise-scale or financial services applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Securities Finance, Collateral Management, Margin, Repo, or Securities Lending platforms.
- Experience with API and service-level testing (e.g., REST, SOAP).
- Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Exposure to performance or load testing tools.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
