Summer Intern, Asset Management - Remote

About the Role

We are excited to offer a Summer Intern position in Asset Management - Remote with the Port Authority Trans-Hudson. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work with the Infrastructure Asset Management Unit at Newark Liberty International and JFK International Airports, focusing on asset management and maintenance alignment. As a Summer Intern in Asset Management, you will develop and execute a project related to asset management, gaining valuable experience in the transportation sector.

What You'll Do

• Support airport mapping and geospatial platform development as part of your internship responsibilities.
• Assist in data collection for Asset Management implementation, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Engage in remote monitoring program activities to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Aviation end users and stakeholders to align asset management strategies.
• Prepare status reports for asset management groups, showcasing your analytical skills.
• Work independently and proactively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress and challenges.
• Document control of development documents to maintain project integrity.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a college or university, majoring in Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Technical knowledge in relevant areas such as asset management and facility maintenance.
• Experience or interest in project management or facility maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and communicate effectively.
• Familiarity with airport planning and design is a plus.
• Proficient in IBM Maximo, Power BI, AutoCAD, and GIS.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong interest in public service and transportation.

Nice to Have

• Previous internship experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of asset management software and tools.
• Understanding of geospatial analysis techniques.
