Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) remote to join our innovative team dedicated to transforming the landscape of eating disorder treatment. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our web and mobile applications, which are vital for delivering essential care to our patients.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement test automation frameworks for web applications to enhance software quality.
- Design, write, and execute end-to-end, functional, and integration tests (API and UI) for complex business requirements.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure a consistent user experience across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.
- Collaborate with engineers to promote shift-left testing and integrate automated testing within continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor and improve testability, test health, and performance metrics.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Product Design to align testing strategies with business needs.
- Execute performance, security, and usability testing to ensure robust application performance.
- Track and manage defects, communicate findings, and contribute to continuous test process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years of experience in software engineering, quality assurance, and test automation for web applications.
- Experience with emulators and cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Playwright, or similar automation frameworks.
- Experience with GIT and CircleCI or equivalent CI/CD tools.
- Proven experience in API testing using Postman or equivalent.
- Expertise in QA methodologies including automated UI testing, API and back-end testing, functional and integration testing, cross-platform and cross-browser testing, and performance and security testing.
- Knowledge of testing CMS and visual web platforms (e.g., Plasmic) for content, layout, performance, and accessibility in modern Next.js applications.
- Experience writing clear and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with Jira, Zephyr, or equivalent test management tools.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting for PostgreSQL databases, including stored procedures and automation scripts.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with AWS and cloud-based testing environments.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, OAuth, and modern web protocols.
- Flexibility to work in Eastern or Central time zones.
Nice to Have
- Experience with performance testing tools.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of security testing practices.
