Senior QA Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our innovative team at White Rose Education. This Senior QA Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to shape our quality assurance function across both our website and app development teams. You will be instrumental in establishing best practices and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of reliability and user experience.

What You'll Do

• Define, implement, and continuously improve the company’s QA processes for both web and app development.
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new and existing features.
• Conduct manual and automated regression testing to identify issues before release and prevent the introduction of new bugs.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Manage and prioritize testing across multiple projects, ensuring release readiness.
• Provide leadership and mentorship on QA best practices to developers and stakeholders.
• Create clear documentation for test processes, results, and issue tracking.
• Advocate for quality and user experience throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer / Senior QA Engineer, ideally in a software product or SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types (functional, regression, integration, UAT), and best practices.
• Experience testing web applications and mobile apps (iOS and Android).
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
• Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g. Postman).
• Experience with bug tracking systems (Jira) and test management tools.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating test automation within them.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a lead QA or QA setup role within a growing organisation.
• Familiarity with AWS, Symfony, or React/TypeScript environments.
• Knowledge of performance and security testing tools.
• Exposure to mobile testing frameworks (Detox).
