Senior DevOps Engineer - Blockchain Infrastructure

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team at Plasma, a pioneering blockchain company focused on stablecoin payments. In this Senior DevOps Engineer remote position, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our next-generation blockchain platform. You will collaborate with a talented team of DevOps engineers and contribute to the evolution of our production systems.

What You'll Do

• Own the reliability roadmap, leading the architectural evolution of our production systems toward higher availability and predictable failure recovery.
• Redesign infrastructure for resilience, implementing chaos engineering and redundancy patterns.
• Elevate observability by transforming our monitoring systems to ensure proactive issue detection.
• Strengthen operational rigor by improving runbooks and incident response protocols.
• Mentor and uplift the team, sharing lessons from operating at scale and fostering a culture of ownership.
• Collaborate with protocol, client, and backend teams to integrate reliability into the design phase.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience operating distributed systems at scale, ideally in big tech, HFT, exchanges, or blockchain infrastructure.
• Deep system design knowledge, with experience architecting platforms for fault tolerance.
• Fluency in Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven track record of leading reliability transformations in production systems.
• Ability to lead through influence, elevating teams without diminishing prior work.

Nice to Have

• Experience with production blockchain infrastructure and validator operations.
• Background in HFT or fintech where latency impacts P&L.
• Familiarity with formal SRE practices, including error budgets and incident management.
• Experience with Rust-based systems or consensus protocols.
• Track record of building a reliability culture.
