Senior Backend Java Developer - Enterprise MDM Platform
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer to join our team for a fully remote role. This position focuses on supporting a mission-critical Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) platform that powers a large-scale customer data and CRM ecosystem. As a Senior Backend Java Developer, you will work on highly scalable, data-intensive systems, ensuring that our applications meet the highest engineering standards.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and support enterprise Java/J2EE applications from end to end.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs using JSON and XML.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries (Informix or PostgreSQL preferred).
- Support production systems, including log analysis, root cause analysis, and on-call support.
- Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentoring to developers.
- Work with offsite development teams and external service providers.
- Ensure applications adhere to engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
- Participate in architecture, design, development, QA, and deployment activities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Framework, JBoss, and enterprise J2EE design patterns.
- Proven experience developing REST APIs.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in Informix, PostgreSQL, DB2, or Oracle.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems.
- Solid understanding of application performance tuning and monitoring.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) or ETL tools (Informatica preferred).
- Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring tools.
- Previous consulting experience.
- AWS Developer or Java certification.
