RPEEPS Surveyor - Remote Position
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated RPEEPS Surveyor to join Riverside, a leading social housing organization. This remote RPEEPS Surveyor role is vital in ensuring that residents requiring assistance during emergencies are properly identified and supported. You will be responsible for creating compliant and person-centered Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for vulnerable residents, ensuring their safety and compliance with current fire safety regulations.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments (PCFRAs) for vulnerable residents, identifying tailored mitigation measures to reduce fire and evacuation risks.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Housing Managers and external partners to identify residents who may require a PEEP.
- Proactively monitor referrals and vulnerability indicators to ensure no resident is missed.
- Engage sensitively with residents, explaining the purpose of PEEPs and gathering relevant personal information.
- Ensure all assessments comply with relevant fire safety legislation and regulatory standards.
- Review PEEPs in response to changes in health, environment, or resident circumstances.
- Conduct QA Peer Reviews on Riverside Partners PEEPs to ensure consistent documentation.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in the building industry, ideally within a customer-focused housing repair or compliance team.
- Strong understanding of fire safety principles and vulnerability risk factors.
- Experience conducting structured assessments with residents, including gathering sensitive information.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sensitively with vulnerable residents.
- Holder of a current, valid UK driving license with access to a vehicle when required.
Nice to Have
- Qualifications in fire safety, health & safety, housing, or risk assessment.
- Experience working with Fire & Rescue Services or emergency planning agencies.
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment or evacuation aids.
