Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst 1 - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst 1 to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for cybersecurity operations, incident response, and implementing defensive cyber measures across various locations. As a SOC Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Warfighter Training Readiness Solutions (W-TRS) program under the U.S. Army PEO STRI. Your expertise will help ensure the security and integrity of our systems while adhering to best practices and operational procedures for defensive cyber operations.
What You'll Do
- Conduct continuous 24×7×365 monitoring, analysis, and response to cyber threats.
- Implement defense strategies and maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Generate reports related to FISMA, RMF ConMon, and security incidents.
- Operate, maintain, and deploy enterprise cyber tools effectively.
- Support the production of documentation and artifacts for Cybersecurity requirements.
- Execute incident responses for all incidents involving the system and prepare incident reports.
- Analyze and correlate audit records using Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM) tools.
- Monitor and control communications at external boundaries, ensuring unauthorized software is detected.
Requirements
- Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, including protection, detection, response, and sustainment.
- Strong understanding of current cybersecurity technologies and emerging innovations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create technical reports.
- Experience with tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Splunk, and Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA).
- Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity or IT Security, with relevant experience in the field.
- 2 years of relevant experience with an Associate’s degree or 0 years with a Bachelor's degree.
- Possession of Security+ or CYSA+ certification is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with DoD / U.S. Army / Federal Government.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Advanced degrees in Cybersecurity or IT Security.
