About the Role
We are seeking a Remote VP of Portfolio & Underwriting to join our innovative team at Pathward. As a leader in financial empowerment, you will play a crucial role in shaping our credit culture and overseeing the underwriting of new business transactions. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to our mission of creating financial inclusion for all.
What You'll Do
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Underwriting & Portfolio teams, including all Account Executives and Commercial Underwriters.
- Lead the development and implementation of credit origination practices grounded in internal and external data, Program Standards, and industry regulations.
- Manage transaction evaluation, customer monitoring, risk rating, portfolio exposure analysis, and performance reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, operations, and other business units to contribute to workout strategies.
- Train and develop a high-performing underwriting and portfolio team, fostering a culture of excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in portfolio management and underwriting, with a focus on financial services.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor teams effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of credit origination practices and industry regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders.
