Remote Staff Developer Advocate - Platform Engineering

About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Staff Developer Advocate to join our team at Temporal Technologies. This role is crucial as you will be the voice and face of our developer community in the Platform Engineering space. Your mission will be to improve the developer experience and help build world-class open-source software.

What You'll Do

• Produce high-quality technical content that resonates with developers.
• Engage with the developer community to gather feedback for product development.
• Drive developer engagement and contribute to the growth of our open-source community.
• Architect and develop sample applications that developers can use to understand Temporal.
• Utilize your experience with self-service developer platforms, especially those built on Kubernetes.
• Communicate effectively with Platform Engineers about Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• Help internal development teams integrate Temporal into their platforms.
• Challenge standard thinking and influence the future of our technology.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy or a similar role.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and self-service developer platforms.
• Strong technical writing skills and experience creating documentation.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and related technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and tools.
• Ability to engage and communicate with a diverse developer audience.
• Passion for open-source software and community building.

Nice to Have

• Experience with programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Previous experience in a startup environment.
