About the Role
As a Remote Staff Data Analyst at Weedmaps, you will shape how the business understands and acts on data insights. This Remote Staff Data Analyst position is pivotal in helping senior leadership across the organization turn their objectives into actionable data strategies that drive multi-million dollar decisions. You will proactively identify opportunities, challenge assumptions with data, and publish insights to the broader cannabis industry.
What You'll Do
- Transform large, messy data into tangible recommendations for the business using your strong proficiency in SQL.
- Lead the migration from Tableau to a new BI tool, ensuring minimal business disruption during the process.
- Create high-quality, scalable analytic and data products, dashboards, and reports that senior executives will use to run the business.
- Serve as a mentor to junior colleagues, improving the quality and sophistication of analysis and visualization.
- Build reusable tools that other analysts can leverage, acting as a force multiplier for the entire team.
- Partner with executives from Product, Marketing, Revenue, and other departments as their data strategist, becoming a trusted thought partner.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis or a related field, with a focus on strategic influence.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with BI tools.
- Proven ability to create impactful dashboards and reports.
- Experience in mentoring and leading junior analysts.
- Ability to work independently and proactively identify data opportunities.

- Familiarity with Streamlit or similar data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of data governance and best practices in data management.
