About the Role

We are looking for a Remote Software Development Engineer I to join our dynamic team at QuillBot. In this role, you will leverage your skills in ReactJS, TypeScript, and NodeJS to contribute to our mission of helping over 56 million users enhance their writing. As a Remote Software Development Engineer I, you'll play a key role in the development of innovative features that empower users to create effectively and beautifully.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop scalable systems and applications with agility and quality.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of tasks from development to production, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to launch impactful features.
  • Engage in continuous learning and stay updated with the latest frontend technologies.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Create prototypes and proofs-of-concept to support iterative development.
  • Drive best practices and engineering improvements across the team.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of software development experience, particularly with scalable full-stack applications.
  • Proficiency in Vanilla JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS.
  • Experience in developing stable and performant software at scale.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a startup mentality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Hands-on experience with authentication and payment systems is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with HTML parsing and DOM manipulation.
