Healthcare Assistant - In Patients Unit (Bank Role)

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our In Patients Unit at Marie Curie in Solihull, United Kingdom. This is a bank role, offering flexibility in your working hours, where you will provide essential support to patients with life-limiting illnesses. What You'll Do

• Support patients and their families by providing compassionate care and emotional support.
• Assist with daily living activities, including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
• Monitor patients' symptoms and report any changes to the nursing team.
• Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to implement personalized care plans.

Requirements

• Recent experience in providing care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses or palliative care needs.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work compassionately with patients and their families.
• Emotional resilience and the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans tailored to individual needs.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a healthcare or social care setting.
• Understanding of end-of-life care principles.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
