Remote Senior Software Developer II - Cloud Platform

About the Role

We are looking for a Remote Senior Software Developer II to join our innovative team at Life360. In this role, you will work on our cloud platform, enhancing and extending our systems to support high-frequency sensor data ingestion. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with senior engineers to tackle unique scaling challenges and deliver impactful solutions.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain cloud-based services using Java, GO, and PHP technologies.
• Enhance existing systems to improve performance and scalability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.
• Utilize Kafka and Kafka Connect for high-frequency data ingestion.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development, particularly in backend systems.
• Proficiency in Java, GO, and PHP.
• Experience with cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of data ingestion processes and tools like Kafka.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies.
