Remote Security Engineer - AI-Driven Construction Solutions

About the Role

Join PermitFlow as a Remote Security Engineer and help redefine how America builds. As a key member of our platform team, you will architect and implement security solutions that ensure compliance and protect our innovative AI-driven construction platform. This role offers you the chance to work on critical security initiatives that impact the construction industry, which is currently valued at $1.6 trillion.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, compliant infrastructure solutions to protect our rapidly growing product.
  • Lead the execution and maintenance of our SOC2 compliance program and other security-related certifications.
  • Develop and audit Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
  • Implement security best practices across backend, frontend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
  • Own security features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and production deployment.
  • Develop security automation and secure CI/CD pipelines to enhance our development processes.
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats across our cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering, AppSec, GRC, or similar roles.
  • Proven experience with SOC2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Deep expertise in RBAC, IAM, and secrets management.
  • Strong experience with container security and orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes a plus).
  • Proficiency in coding and scripting languages such as TypeScript, Python, Go, and Bash.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security, preferably GCP.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and incident management best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-focused startup environment.

  • Knowledge of secure CI/CD practices.
  • Previous work in the construction or real estate industry.
