React Native Developer - Remote Opportunity with Relocation Support

About the Role

StartupHeroes is looking for a React Native Developer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will build features and improve the performance and reliability of our systems as we rapidly support products and organizations.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend & Frontend Engineers to conceptualize and build new product features.
• Take ownership of team features or systems, ensuring their long-term health while improving surrounding systems for operational excellence.
• Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and development processes across the organization.
• Perform in-depth code reviews.
• Build and enhance pages and components primarily for our React Native mobile application, with occasional contributions to our React-based back-office web application.
• Work with tools such as Firebase, Datadog, CodePush, and Expo.
• Help improve consistency and reusability of UI components.

Requirements

• 1+ years of professional experience building applications with React Native using JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Expo (managed & bare) and React Native CLI.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and component-based design.
• Experience with state management and server state solutions (Redux Toolkit, Redux Saga, Context API, React Query).
• Experience using React Navigation.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and side-effect management.
• Good knowledge of software design principles and their practical application.
• Strong problem-solving skills and solid understanding of core data structures and algorithms.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with building web applications using React.
• Background in creating or maintaining shared UI libraries or design systems.
• Knowledge of React Native Reanimated and advanced gesture handling techniques.
• Hands-on use of Firebase services such as Analytics, Crashlytics, and Push Notifications.
• Exposure to background tasks including background fetch, timers, and geolocation.
