About the Role

We are seeking a Hearings Manager remote to join our team at Lensa. As a Hearings Manager, you will oversee the hearing process for a dedicated client base while managing a team of hearing coordinators. This role requires strategic execution of hearing preparation and representation, all in a fully remote environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive leadership and strategic oversight to the hearings team and independent contractors.
  • Foster internal team growth and manage independent contractor relationships effectively.
  • Lead coaching sessions to promote development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to ensure team effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit standards and regulatory requirements while overseeing daily operations.
  • Collaborate with teams and clients to enhance processes and outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex hearing scenarios and internal team concerns.
  • Bring creative and strategic solutions to complex problems to improve team effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in unemployment insurance, hearings representation, or a related environment.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and performance management.
  • Experience with multi-state unemployment laws and appeals processes.
  • Knowledge of unemployment insurance laws and hearing preparation.
  • Experience managing high-volume operations efficiently.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and internal teams for improved outcomes.
  • Experience managing or partnering with independent contractors is preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with payroll and professional services (e.g., UI, HR, SHRM-CP, CPP).
  • Experience in a regulated audit-focused environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to offer guidance on escalated issues.
