Mid-Senior Hearings Manager - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Hearings Manager remote to join our team at Lensa. As a Hearings Manager, you will oversee the hearing process for a dedicated client base while managing a team of hearing coordinators. This role requires strategic execution of hearing preparation and representation, all in a fully remote environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive leadership and strategic oversight to the hearings team and independent contractors.
- Foster internal team growth and manage independent contractor relationships effectively.
- Lead coaching sessions to promote development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to ensure team effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with internal audit standards and regulatory requirements while overseeing daily operations.
- Collaborate with teams and clients to enhance processes and outcomes.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex hearing scenarios and internal team concerns.
- Bring creative and strategic solutions to complex problems to improve team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in unemployment insurance, hearings representation, or a related environment.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and performance management.
- Experience with multi-state unemployment laws and appeals processes.
- Knowledge of unemployment insurance laws and hearing preparation.
- Experience managing high-volume operations efficiently.
- Ability to collaborate with clients and internal teams for improved outcomes.
- Experience managing or partnering with independent contractors is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with payroll and professional services (e.g., UI, HR, SHRM-CP, CPP).
- Experience in a regulated audit-focused environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to offer guidance on escalated issues.
