Mid-Senior C++ Developer - Private & Secure Browser

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced C++ Developer remote to join the team at Aloha, a private and secure browser focused on digital freedom and online privacy. In this role, you will help us implement new features, optimize performance, and refine the browser core. We are currently strengthening two key areas: the browser core for our Android project and the desktop platform.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement new functionality into the Chromium-based browser.
  • Support and merge updates from the Chromium repository.
  • Optimize performance (memory, CPU, loading speed).
  • Fix complex bugs and crashes through deep debugging.
  • Write automation scripts and build tools using Python.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial C++ development experience, particularly with Modern C++ (17/20/23).
  • Experience with multithreading and asynchronous programming.
  • Proficiency with debugging tools such as GDB, LLDB, and WinDbg.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Looking to advance your Development & Programming career with relocation support.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the Chromium codebase, CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework), Electron, or other browser engines (WebKit, Gecko).
  • Knowledge of Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
  • Understanding of network protocols (HTTP/S, QUIC) and graphics stack (Skia, OpenGL/Vulkan).
  • Experience with the GN/Ninja build system.
  • Practical experience in building systems with inter-process communication (IPC).
