Member of Technical Staff - Security Engineering (Remote)

About the Role

At Anchorage Digital, we are seeking a Member of Technical Staff in Security Engineering to join our innovative team. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on the world’s most advanced digital asset platform, enabling institutions to participate in crypto securely. As a key member of our security engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our systems are robust and secure.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement high-quality, secure code for cryptographic controls throughout our infrastructure as a Member of Technical Staff - Security Engineering.
• Review code across the technology stack and assist engineering teams in resolving security-related issues.
• Foster a culture of efficient testing while minimizing technical debt and unnecessary processes.
• Build resilient components that integrate seamlessly with other teams to ensure asset and data security.
• Develop and maintain threat models for cryptosystem guarantees, both internal and external.
• Lead or contribute significantly to medium and large Security Team initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Coordinate with team members across engineering boundaries and drive projects from inception to completion.
• Present options clearly, analyze tradeoffs thoroughly, and provide well-reasoned priority recommendations.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in applied cryptography, including symmetric/asymmetric encryption, hashing algorithms, and digital signatures.
• Experience with secure coding practices in languages such as Go, C++, C, and Rust.
• Ability to analyze complex systems and design robust security solutions within a distributed architecture.
• Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for secure key management is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to troubleshoot cryptographic issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex cryptographic concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

• Experience with blockchain protocols.
• Familiarity with various authentication and authorization mechanisms, including multi-factor authentication and OAuth 2.0.
• Interest in reading blockchain protocol white papers and staying updated on cryptoasset innovations.
