Material Planner - Remote Opportunity at Hiab

About the Role

Hiab is seeking a Material Planner to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery. What You'll Do

• Release purchase orders for direct materials used in production.
• Monitor orders to ensure there is no lack of supply on production lines.
• Provide technical support and daily activities to understand demand and develop material management activities, including logistics and warehousing.
• Negotiate and monitor with suppliers, primarily international, to adjust their production capacity to meet our needs.
• Utilize ERP systems for effective material planning and management.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent with relevant engineering and/or industrial experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in logistics or sourcing roles within an international and multi-site company.
• Experience managing supplier relations and negotiations with large suppliers on a global scale.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems.
• Experience with complex steel assemblies, hydraulic systems, or electrical & electronics is preferred.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of sourcing methods, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on building long-term relationships with suppliers.

• Business Intelligence skills (Power BI, SQL, Google Apps).
