About the Role
We are offering a unique opportunity for a Master's Thesis position focused on model-based interpretation of IR images. This role is ideal for students currently enrolled in a master's program in computational engineering, physics, materials science, or a related field. As a part of the DLR (German Aerospace Center), you will contribute to innovative research aimed at making renewable resources available and replacing fossil fuels.
What You'll Do
- Conduct literature research on the state-of-the-art digital representation of porous structures.
- Perform optical and thermal simulations of porous structures.
- Engage in model-based interpretation of thermographic images.
- Utilize programming skills, particularly in Python, for data analysis.
- Develop data-driven models to enhance research outcomes.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a master's program in computational engineering, physics, materials science, or similar.
- Initial experience with optical and thermal simulations (e.g., ray tracing).
- Programming skills in Python for data analysis.
- Creative problem-solving skills and an independent, structured working style.
- Good communication and presentation skills in English and German.
Nice to Have
- Experience in conducting research in renewable energy technologies.
- Familiarity with thermochemical cycles and their applications.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools.
